Hiking up the Dürrenstein mountain

Great view of the Dolomites
The 2,839m high peak of the Dürrenstein is a popular destination for a four-hours-hike.
The starting point is the parking space at Plätzwiese in the Pragser Valley (at 1,990m above sea level).
Until 10 a.m., you are allowed to come here by car, later there is a shuttle service taking you up the around 10km long (toll) mountain road.
At the starting point, you follow the path no. 37 to the restaurant Gasthof Plätzwiese, where you need to turn to path no. 40 leading to Dürrenstein.
After a while, you need to turn left and hike up to the peak.
Not only at the top, but also on your way there, you can enjoy a great view of the Dolomites and even further.
This hike is particularly popular in summer, but it is beautiful also in autumn.
In winter, it is a great peak to be reached with touring skis.

Climbing at Kronplatz

A unique paradise for climbers
Who loves climbing will have fun at Kronplatz.
Beginners can take classes with climbing teachers or professional mountain guides, while experts can do more demanding tours, for example in the valley Höhlensteintal.
Those who don’t want to choose between climbing and hiking and like both, can combine the two activities and climb a mountain on a via ferrata (fixed rope route).

Paragliding and tandem flying in Bruneck

Fly and enjoy your freedom
Would you like to see the mountains from a different perspective?
An unforgettable experience with a view of the Dolomites, the Pustertal Valley and the main ridge of the Alps.
During a tandem flight, you can see the mountains in a way you never have before.
While flying, you can enjoy the landscapes and feel free and calm.

Not a typical museum

MMM at 2,275m
For culture and mountain lovers, these museums could be a great alternative on a day without sports: the Messner Mountain Museums (MMM).
In the Pustertal Valley, there are two of them: the MMM Ripa at Brunico Castle and the MMM Corones on the top of Kronplatz.
The museums belong to the alpinist Reinhold Messner and give you a great insight into the life of different mountain tribes and inform you about mountain topics.
On the top of Kronplatz, the characteristic architecture by Zaha Hadid is not the only thing to marvel at, but the view of the Dolomites, the Ortler, the Marmolada and the Zillertal Alps is stunning as well.

Lake Prags and the Tre Cime di Lavaredo

Like paradise
Popular destinations in the Pustertal valley include the Braies Lake at 1,500 meters above sea level and the Tre Cime di Lavaredo (Three Peaks), which are part of the Sexten Dolomites and the Natural Park Three Peaks.
Around the Tre Cime you can take a pleasant four-hour walk with little altitude difference.

Sledging fun for the whole family

The toboggan runs „Korer” and “Cianross”
Fun is guaranteed when sledging down the toboggan runs “Korer” or “Cianross”.
They are not dangerous and therefore popular among families with children.
They are both part of the skiing area Kronplatz.
The 1.5km long “Korer” is located next to the valley station in Reischach and the 680m long “Cianross” is next to the valley station in San Vigilio.
At both valley stations, you have the possibility to borrow a sledge, and who likes sledging in the evening, can do that on Tuesdays and Thursdays form 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. (Cianross) or on Saturdays (Korer).
